2025-2026 Call for Nominations!

The SMPS Orange County (OC) Board of Directors invites you to join us in leading our Chapter as a Chair, Director, or committee member. SMPS OC is growing our membership, value, and impact on the local AEC industry. To remain on this path, we need leaders like you who are passionate about the profession and have a commitment to excellence. We hope you will consider serving SMPS OC as a member of our Chapter's volunteer leadership team.

Becoming an SMPS Fellow opens doors to invaluable networking, thought leadership opportunities, and enhanced credibility in the A/E/C industry. As a Fellow, you'll gain access to exclusive events, deepen your industry influence, and contribute to advancing the profession while learning alongside the best in the field. Eligibility to become an SMPS Fellow:
•    15 years of A/E/C experience or marketing/business development experience.
•    Member of SMPS for at least 10 of the previous 15 consecutive years and currently be a member in good standing.
•    Currently a CPSM
•    Complete a detailed online application with education, work history, statement of intent, contributions, and endorsement/testimonial letters

SMPS OC's 2024-2025 President's Message

I am deeply honored to step into the role of President for SMPS Orange County. New beginnings are always thrilling, and I’m excited to embark on this journey with all of you. I joined SMPS in 2001, which means that when I leave the board as past president, I’ll be a member for a quarter of a century. Put your party hat and your dancing shoes on, because we will definitely have a celebration.

First, a heartfelt thank you to the outgoing board as well as our past-president Lissa Moon, and the previous past-president, Suzie Bravo. Your past leadership has been invaluable, and your future contributions are greatly appreciated. Let’s also give a warm welcome to our incoming board members. I am eager to work alongside each of them to expand our horizons. Stay tuned as we introduce them on LinkedIn.

As someone who grew up traveling extensively and having lived in Texas, Libya, and the Philippines, ending up in California (I attended three different high schools), I’ve had the privilege of experiencing diverse and wonderful cultures firsthand. My goal during my term is to bring that spirit of exploration and learning to our marketing efforts, broadening our perspectives one topic at a time. 2024 Member Appreciation Awards Nominations Open!

SMPS Orange County’s Member Appreciation Awards recognize excellence in marketing communications and the outstanding achievements of top marketing professionals. Member Appreciation Awards are granted to “Rising Stars” in the industry and Member of the Year. These professionals will be recognized for exceptional accomplishments in our industry. 

Submissions are judged by a selection panel of SMPS leaders from the Orange County Chapter and Chapters throughout California. The awards provide an opportunity for peer recognition and to showcase the outstanding efforts made by those with a passion for our industry. Nominations may be submitted by both members and non-members with offices located in the Orange County region. However, only members are eligible to receive awards. If you need to confirm your nominee’s membership status, please contact [email protected].

Nominations are due to Membership Director, Danielle Holguin, on or before July 12, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).

Rising Star (<5 years of experience): 
•    A feature on SMPS-OC website/social media
•    $75 credit toward SMPS-OC education event in the 2024-2025 year

•    $150 towards 2025 Pacific Region Conference registration
