May Luncheon – OCTA Long Range Transportation Plan!

Tuesday May 8, 2018 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Andrei’s Cuisine

In the next few years, Orange County is projected to increase its population by 10 percent, seeing growth of 11 percent in housing, and 17 percent in employment. These major impacts will affect our daily lives with more time spent in traffic. If no additional improvements are made to Orange County’s transportation system, traffic is expected to increase 66 percent by the year 2040.

To help relieve congestion, OCTA is updating the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for Orange County. Called Designing Tomorrow 2040, the general goals of the 2018 LRTP are to assess the performance of the transportation systems over a 20+ year horizon. Also, the LRTP will help identify the projects that best address the needs of the system based on expected population, housing, and employment growth — as well as financial and revenue assumption forecasts.

Join SMPS-OC as we welcome OCTA in a lively discussion on updates to the LRTP, which improvements have been prioritized and how they will influence your daily commute throughout Orange County.

*Registration closes Friday, May 4, at 5 pm
