The SMPS-OC Chapter provided a Level 1 course which gave an overview of InDesign and taught how to best prepare and approach the production and design of documents. Participants learned to work with objects, type and graphics. Those who completed this course, have a solid understanding and foundation for how best to maximize their efficiency when building your documents.

Orange County Water District’s Groundwater Replenishment System is one of the largest advanced water recycling projects in the U.S. — recharging our local aquifers and relieving our dependence on imported water supplies from Northern California. Participants had the opportunity to tour their facility and learn more about the advancements in “Indirect Potable Reuse,” and the recent decision to expand this facility in the coming year.

SMPS Orange County presented Part I of “Cityscape,” a 3-Part Series on Development in Orange County. We investigated what is stirring up in Orange County by inviting industry elites and decision makers from three of the major cities undergoing major development: Anaheim, Tustin, and Irvine.
Part I: Anaheim Development includes some of the major project development-surfacing headlines. Participants learned about relevant progress on Anaheim projects which include Anaheim Village Resort, Platinum Triangle, Anaheim Canyon, and more.

To celebrate the Holidays, SMPS-OC had a joint celebration with SMPS-OC & BDA/OC. The event was held at Antonello’s South Coast Plaza In Santa Ana, CA.
This event was successful in collecting items and fundraising monies for “Families Forward” and “Olive Crest Home for Abused and Abandoned Children,” SMPS and BDA’s respective charities. Thank you all for your contributions to help spread the holiday cheer by putting a smile on a child’s face!

Nurturing and expanding relationships is necessary to retain long-term clients. As project managers and technical professionals, we are expected to not only do great work and achieve client satisfaction, but also to position our firm for future projects. Every project and client interaction creates an opportunity to achieve these objectives. This webinar helped attendees understand the topic that lead to meaningful client conversations, explore tools to promote client retention, and identify behaviors that build strong relationships.

At 7:00 PM, we made our way to our very own SMPS Terrace box seats to watch the Anaheim Angels.

Every year, ten SMPS Pacific Region Chapters join forces to host three dynamic days of networking, learning, and developing relationships with industry partners. We are already looking forward to attending the 2017 PRC in Anchorage, Alaska!
